Skills Development
Digital Twin is the ability to make a virtual representation of the physical elements and the dynamics of how an Internet of Things device operates and works. It's more than a blueprint; it's more than a schematic. It's a virtual representation of both the elements and the dynamics of how an Internet of Things device responds throughout its lifecycle. It can be a jet engine, a building, process on factory floor, and much, much more.
Directed Energy Deposition (DED) is a more complex 3D printing process, typically used to repair or add additional material to existing components. DED is often used for industrial applications including repairing damaged aircraft engines, turbine blades and or propellers, power generation units, oil and gas industry core equipment etc.
Immersive Technology, consisting of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality, Immersive Technologies create or extend reality. And this is done by immersing the user in a digital environment having applications in different domains. This technology is gaining momentum, it leads to new ways of creating, displaying and interacting with applications, content and experiences. Immersive technology has transformed the digital experience by bringing together the virtual with users’ sight, sound, and even touch. Immersive technologies allows to feel part of an artificial, simulated environment.
Rapid Prototyping is an emerging technology that is evolving within the design and manufacturing industries. This technology makes it possible to fabricate physical parts, without the need for tooling, through the direct conversion of three-dimensional data.
Rapid Prototyping uses the principles of Slicing, Layering, and Bonding to build the part.
Three-dimensional data is first sliced into cross-sectional planes by a computer. These planes are sent from the computer to the rapid prototyping machine, which builds the part layer-by-layer.
